A story that is
TRUELY
ROMANTIC

Uniquely Me:
My husband always said the thought there was something unique and different about me that made me one of a kind. What neither of us knew, was how true this was.
After more than a year of trying, I finally got an appointment with the right people and the testing started. The first tests were pretty standard – blood tests, an ultrasounds to check for nasties (nothing showed up) and tests to check my eggs (yes, there are some).
Then it got a bit more invasive. The next test, and a particularly awful test was the Dye test. This is a procedure where they insert a bunch of tubes up your whosieewhatsit, inflate a balloon to open the uterus and then flood it with contrast dye. All the while you’re sitting with your legs in the air and a machine across your tummy to show where the dye goes. It’s not a pleasant procedure anyways, but when your two doctors bring in a bunch of other doctors to have a look see at the woman who only has half the equipment, it gets weird real fast.
The dye test was the start of the diagnosis that lead us to IVF. It was followed by another ultra sound, an MRI and a few thousand dollars later, I was diagnosed as a unicorn...kinda!
